Reconciliation of work and private life for the 2020/21 school year (12/09/2020)

| The Autonomous Community and the City Council are working on the launch of a free service for the reconciliation of work and private life for the 2020/21 school year | The Youth Council of the Totana City Council informs that the Council of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, is working on the drafting of a Decree, which will articulate the measures to reconcile work and private life of the families before the start of the blended school year.

In the drafting of the Decree, a dialogue is maintained with families, town councils and with the Ministry of Education and Culture. The regional government will allocate 7 million euros to the municipalities to offer parents alternative spaces to the school classroom on the days they do not have to go to class.

The budget will be distributed according to the number of children from 3 to 12 years that has been counted in each municipality, the amount assigned to Totana is not yet known, according to sources from the Youth Council. This line is aimed at the care of boys and girls in Primary Education (6-12 years) and second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years) whose parents are working or receiving training for employment, with schedules adapted to the school day of the educational centers of the municipality. The services eligible for this subsidy are those provided by the City Council during school hours, when, due to epidemiological criteria, the operation of schools does not allow attention to all students. The conciliation service will be free and will be developed in municipal social premises located in the urban area and districts, depending on the budgetary provision and characteristics of the infrastructures. At the moment the City Council is in full preparation of the spaces that are the most appropriate and meet the appropriate conditions in sanitary hygiene measures to provide conciliation services to families.

In addition, a survey will be conducted to find out the demand for conciliation services in order to adjust and optimize the available resources.Families who are interested in these conciliation services can leave their data by filling out a form, which is available at the following link: https://forms.gle/vZEmGrEYmHqKVZtFA For more information, you can contact the Youth Council, by phone 968 42 25 56 or by email informajoven@totana.es
