The Socialist Group considers that from the municipal level it can collaborate with local educational centers to help reduce the ratios through the transfer of municipal spaces that can be used as classrooms and they requested it to the City Council last week.
This measure, which many mayors and mayors have already announced for their municipalities, can help ensure a safer return to the classroom.Despite the fact that the municipalities have limited powers in education, we are living in an exceptional moment and we all have a moral obligation to go beyond what would be required of us under normal circumstances.
However, President López Miras does not seem to be in for the job and limits himself to drawing up numerous plans, but without providing the necessary resources to carry them out and without clear criteria. For this reason, the response of the local authorities cannot be to follow the example of a Regional Government that has left the dead body and simply dedicate itself to throwing balls out.
The policy of victimhood and sit-down arms is not the answer that the totaneras and totaneros expect from our City Council. The Local Executive must believe in its progressive values ??and take the leadership to offer the moral support that the Regional Government has denied to the educational community, claiming the right to a quality and safe education.
In this sense and from its powers, the City Council has to set an example and do everything possible so that the return to school 2020 is a safe return and with all the guarantees. For this, the Socialist councilors insist once again on offering their support, contributing ideas and positive proposals as they have done so far and will continue to do so until they are heard.
