Students from the IES Reina Sofía de Totana will take a virtual excursion to the church of San Martín de Tours in Frómista (Palencia) (10/06/2020)

| Since the coronavirus pandemic began, this is the second streaming trip that the students of Segundo de ESO through the Department of Geography and History | The first excursion took place on May 27 to the Castle of Lorca thanks to the center's digital educational project and the interest of the Department of Geography and History of the IES Reina Sofía to design an activity that would adapt to the new challenges posed by the coronavirus to exercise teaching and also motivate students.

This pilot experience in the Fortress of the Sun liked the students so much that the teachers (Alfonso Espejo and Carolina Salinas) got down to work to find another virtual visit.

After contacting the Tourism Office of Frómista (Palencia) and asking them about the possibility of carrying out this experience in 'streaming', the truth is that they liked the proposal a lot and they provided them with many facilities, according to what teachers told Totana.com. Today, at 10.20 am, ESO Second Graders will have the opportunity to visit the Church of San Martín de Tours.

This construction is the best prototype of Romanesque architecture that exists in Spain. In the temple there will be two guides equipped with cameras to zoom in on the images of this Romanesque construction in real time.

The Department of Geography and History has produced a digital file on the visit using Genially : an online software that allows you to create lively and interactive presentations.

Thus, a link has been provided to students to access the file, marked by a didactic and very intuitive design, which will allow students with a simple 'click' to access different icons with basic information on the steps to follow during the virtual tour.

Students will also be able to pose their doubts to the guides who will be at Frómista through an interactive chat.At the end of the streaming tour, students will develop the 'mission' of this tour: an artistic commentary on the church through an interactive presentation that they must prepare using new technologies: a Genially - the aforementioned online software that allows creating presentations lively and interactive.

The best presentations will be published on the website of the Frómista Tourism Office.
