It is a minimum vital income is a basic income approved by the Government and directed at households in a situation of "severe poverty", which amounts to 20%.In Spain there are 1.1 million households with all their members unemployed, and almost 600,000 who do not have any type of income, according to the Labor Force Survey.The requirements to apply for the Minimum Vital Income are several.

In any case, the aid is for a family, not for people, so it will only be one of the adult members of the coexistence unit who requests it even if the income of several is taken into account.The requirements are:Be between 23 and 65 years old, unless there are minors in charge, and prove legal and effective residence in Spain without interruption for at least one year before the application.In addition to the type of home, the amounts of this aid will depend on the income and family assets, excluding the habitual residence.

In principle, people who in their 2019 income statement prove not reaching the Minimum Guaranteed Income will be able to access the minimum income.

However, those who have seen their income fall more than 50% in 2020, may request it by providing a Responsible Declaration.Amount of the benefitThe minimum vital income aid will go from 462 to 1,015 euros per household, an amount that depends on whether you have elderly people or dependent children, and the income declared in 2019.

Thus, the aid contemplates an increase of 139 euros for each cohabitant as well as a supplement of 100 euros per year for single-parent families.This June 1, the Minimum Life Income has entered into force, although it cannot be requested until June 15.

Those who ask for help between June 15 and September 15 will charge it based on the first day of operation.

While those who request it later, will receive the aid the following month.
