The regional government decides to wait for the ministerial order in the BOE to decide whether Totana, with a recent outbreak of cases, is expected to continue in phase 1 (22/05/2020)

The Autonomous Community has announced this afternoon, through a statement, that it is going to wait to know the ministerial order of Health published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) to decide whether Totana, which had had a regrowth of cases by COVID- 19 last week, it continues in phase 1, as it seems predictable; or finally it goes to 2.The Region of Murcia will move next Monday, the 25th to phase 2 of the Plan of de-escalation once it has received the approval of the Ministry of Health to the proposal that the regional government has made after receiving the mandatory reports from the Epidemiology and Public Health Service , in which it was suggested that Totana not pass through the 6 cases out of 11 registered a few days ago.The Ministry of Health has informed the regional Executive by telephone that it will give authority in the BOE to the communities for specific cases such as that of Totana, where the recommendation of the Epidemiology Service is to continue in phase 1 until seeing how the new cases detected evolve , according to the statement.The Ministry has informed by telephone conversation that it will give autonomy to the communities for specific cases such as that of the municipality of Totana, so the Community awaits the publication of the Official State Gazette by the Ministry.Based on the report of the Epidemiology Service of the Region of Murcia, the two basic health areas of Totana (Totana Norte and Totana Sur) would remain in phase 1 until the meeting of the Technical Commission for Descaling scheduled for next May 28, where the evolution of the cases will be evaluated.In this sense, the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, communicated this afternoon, after the public appearance of the minister Salvador Illa, with the heads of the different Public Administrations in this matter in the autonomous community to know more concretely and accurately the interpretation of the rule after the proposal of the regional government.The first mayor pointed out that "we are waiting for us to be contacted, with certainty, during the weekend if we go to phase 2 with the Region", adding that "I am aware that the situation is controlled and evolving well".Cánovas added that “it would be a great joy to leave phase 1 and take steps towards normality; although, nevertheless, the first thing is the health of our people; and no matter what happens, we must not let our guard down, "he said.
