These grants contribute to the maintenance of organic agriculture, to the improvement of the conservation of biodiversity and the environment, and to face up to the fight against climate change. The beneficiaries include farmers from 30 municipalities in the Region and the amounts of the premiums for each of the groups of eligible crops are 640 euros per hectare for citrus; 400 for vineyard; 360 for olive tree; 80 for herbaceous plants; 720 for table grapes; 240 for nuts; and 240 euros per hectare for aromatic plants. They are located in the municipalities of Abanilla, Águilas, Alguazas, Alhama de Murcia, Archena, Blanca, Bullas, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cartagena, Cehegín, Cieza, Fuente Álamo, Jumilla, Librilla, Lorca, Mazarrón, Molina de Segura, Moratalla, Mula, Murcia, Ojós, Puerto Lumbreras, Ricote, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Santomera, Torre Pacheco, Las Torres de Cotillas, Totana and Yecla. After examining the applications for granting aid, and in accordance with the Order of April 30 of the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and the Environment, which agrees to the resumption of the deadlines set for its processing, the lists are published.

of beneficiaries who meet all the admissibility requirements, expressing the amount of the corresponding aid.Likewise, the list of the applications dismissed for breaching the requirements to be a beneficiary is offered and the interested parties are granted a hearing, for a period of ten business days from the day following the publication of the resolution, to present allegations.Currently there are around 3,000 registered organic farmers in the Region, and nearly 400 certified industries for processing and marketing.

In 2013 there was an amount close to 60,000 hectares of certified crops under organic production standards and today there are already 80,000, which represents about 20 percent of the area dedicated to crops, which makes the Region of Murcia in the autonomous community with the highest proportion of cultivated land certified as organic, as well as the European region with the highest percentage dedicated to these crops.90 percent of production is destined for foreign trade.

Thus, organic products from the Murcia Region are sold mainly in destinations in the European Union, especially in central and northern countries (Germany, France, the United Kingdom or the Nordic countries).

However, the national market is one of the fastest growing in recent years.
