The Plenary will address, in an extraordinary session, a joint motion with 113 measures to deal with the COVID-19 crisis in Totana (17/05/2020)

The Plenum of the Totana City Council will hold an extraordinary session this week to address the joint motion of all the municipal political groups -except for Vox- on proposed measures to deal with the crisis of COVID-19 in this municipality.

The plenary session, which will be convened this Monday, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 21, at a time that has yet to be finalized. The proposal covers a total of 113 measures proposed by the municipal groups of Ganar Totana-IU, Partido Popular, Partido Socialista Obrero Español and Grupo Mixto, which comprise Ciudadanos-Partido de la Ciudadanía and the "Ahora Totana" Platform.The initiative includes approving the proposed measures and completing them in the shortest possible time; as well as recording, for budgetary purposes, the balance provided in the Contingency Fund of the extended municipal budget from 2019 to 2020, in the existing amount of approximately 300,000 euros.In addition, it is included in the motion that the municipal government team continue with the procedures before the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations and the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces to ensure that the liquid remainder of the Treasury is applied to what is indicated in this motion.The municipal government team is also urged to maintain the negotiations with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia to distribute the funds that the Government of the Nation is going to use to alleviate the effects of the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19.Lastly, it includes the approval of the scaling bases attached to the motion to grant aid to the affected groups in the shortest possible time, upon request by the interested parties of the measures that are accepted and which will be scaled by municipal technicians.The 113 proposals are general and cover measures in the fields of Education, Culture, Sports, Social Policy, Health, Employment, Finance and Taxes, Local Economic Activity and Monitoring Commission. Likewise, it is agreed that, within the Board of Spokespersons, mechanisms for gathering and exchanging information will be established to evaluate and monitor the application of these measures, through a monitoring committee that will be made up of political representatives from all municipal groups.
