The PP urges the municipal government to work on expanding the terraces of the municipality's hospitality industry (05/05/2020)

| In addition to requesting that the expansion of the opening hours of these terraces be studied for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis | Juan Pagán; We need the Totana hospitality industry to have an increase in resources to face the reopening. The Popular Party of Totana urges the Municipal Government to work on the expansion of the terraces of the municipality's hospitality industry. According to statements by the Popular Spokesperson, Juan Pagán; "We have registered this morning a motion in which we request that the current area of ??the terraces of the bars of the municipality be expanded, in addition to studying the possibility of extending the hours of these terraces while the crisis of COVID-19 lasts" In phase 1, which in principle would enter on May 11, it is anticipated that the opening of many small businesses that have been closed since the beginning of the State of Alarm, businesses without income that, however, will they continued to cause numerous expenses to their owners. It is planned that, in this new phase, as has happened in the places that have already entered it, such as the islands, the reopening to the public of the terraces of the hotel and restaurant establishments is authorized, limiting it to fifty percent of the tables allowed in the immediately preceding year based on the corresponding municipal license.

In any case, you must ensure that the proper physical distance of at least two meters is maintained between the tables or, where appropriate, groupings of tables. The City Council of Totana must urgently analyze the possibility of expanding the authorizations of the public thoroughfare of existing hotel and restaurant establishments, creating new spaces, pedestrianizing streets and all those measures that can be put in place to, first guarantee the health of all totaneros, responding to the safety distances and afterwards to allow them to reopen as soon as possible and as many businesses as possible, in order to revive the economy and a considerable number of totaneros recover their work or their business, since that with the initial restrictions, the reopening of many of these businesses will be very complicated. From the Municipal People's Group and taking into account the claims of the hoteliers of the municipality, as well as the need to offer the maximum security of the neighbors when carrying out the use of the terraces, we consider the need to carry out a specific modification of the regulatory ordinance of the terraces to be able to expand the surface of the same. According to Pagán, with this measure we intend: "that hoteliers can be compensated for the reduction of tables allowed in the space they currently have, as well as studying the schedule for this summer, in order to help as much as possible to this sector that has been greatly affected by this crisis.

" It is time to look for solutions that help the sector to recover as soon as possible, to create new spaces and to look for new formulas to reactivate the municipality's hotel and restaurant business. We also consider it important and as a boost to businesses that in addition to expanding the surface so that they maintain the number of tables that establishments have recognized, they can increase the number of them and that this does not mean an increase in the rate that each hotelier pays habitually.
