Florists are authorized access to the municipal cemetery of Totana and the parish church of El Paretón-Cantareros (20/04/2020)

| For the deposit of flower arrangements on request for Mother's Day | The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, has today issued a municipal Bando by which florists are authorized access to the Municipal Cemetery "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" in order to allow the deposit of flower arrangements on request for the Day of the Mother, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of May.The Mayor's Office intends, with this decree, to provide facilities for florists to access the churchyard and make the floral arrangements that the neighbors order, as well as cleaning or preparing niches, tombstones, pantheons, among other tasks. With the averages contemplated in this side, in addition to the sentimental questions and of memory to the deceased mothers, the Mayor's office wants to collaborate, with modesty, in support of a sector such as that of florists and cut flower that is suffering the sanitary, social crisis and cheap in a brutal way.As explained by the mayor on the side, "one of the toughest and most complicated measures taken in the context of the state of alarm, has been the closure of the municipal cemetery or the restriction on the number to three that can access the site at burials ”.The first mayor recognizes, on his side, that “not being able to visit the graves, niches or pantheons in which our loved ones rest; it is something that affects us in troubled moments in which the memory of those who gave everything for us becomes essential to bear the confinement or the measures adopted by the Government in the face of the health crisis of COVID-19 ”.This measure has been adopted in the face of a date so marked on the social calendar as Mother's Day, which goes beyond commercial connotations; the meaning of a mother is fundamental in the existence of the human being, it is specified in the Mayor's Office. This is an initiative that can give an option to those who wish that the graves, niches, pantheons where our mothers rest, can have a memory of their children at this time and date so marked. The Totana City Council decided on March 17 to close access to the facilities of the municipal cemetery "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" in Totana and the parish church of El Paretón, so that only service workers may access for the performance of their work internal with the stipulated restrictions. The measures to take into account will be the following under said municipal side:- Only access to the cemetery is allowed to florist companies registered in the IAE.- The number of people working inside the municipal cemetery, per company, will be a maximum of 2; being able to access with the company's vehicles and with security measures, keeping the prevention distances contemplated in the Royal Decree of the state of alarm.- The working hours inside will be the normal one of the cemetery, keeping the access and exit doors closed to the public.- The florists will take the necessary photographs of the works to send them to the relatives and that the memories of the mothers and loved ones are recorded.- To contact the Totana florists, the City Council will make the contact telephone numbers of all of them public so that orders can be made in an exclusive relationship between the client and the company.
