"La Cleofé" donates medical supplies to the "Totana Sur" Health Center]
"From our BROTHERHOOD OF SANTA MARIA CLEOFÉ AND CORONACIÓN DE ESPINAS, the Board of Directors has considered that we must collaborate to the best of our ability with the difficult situation that we are now facing, in the face of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, which is putting our social and economic structure in check, "as reported by the brotherhood in a statement.
We have considered it convenient to collaborate with the means that we have had at our disposal, and allocate it to the Health Centers of Totana, which is where we are treated first when we have any ailment or when we go to our regular consultations.
And mainly with the professionals who provide their services in them, whom we all know about the daily treatment.
We know that they are very short of material to protect themselves against the frequent infections that are happening.
For all this, from our Brotherhood we have decided to collaborate with the «Totana Sur» Health Center, providing 25 prophylactic kits consisting of a hat, mask, gown and booties, to be used both in foreign services, emergencies or in the daily service of the clinic.
In addition, 20 cloth gowns and single-use sleeves have been donated.
Appreciate the collaboration of the Totana Merchants Association, in obtaining this material, which has been received by the staff of the Health Centers with open arms.
This Association has collaborated with the "Totana Norte" Health Center, and we do so with the "Totana Sur" Health Center.
Parallel to this more immediate action, we have been able to obtain 120 meters of semi-laminated fabric, washable and therefore reusable, suitable for making gowns for use by healthcare professionals.
They are already being made right now and in a couple of days between 20 and 25 robes will be available for delivery.
At this point, thank the collaboration of the Association of Merchants of the "Santa Eulalia" neighborhood of Murcia, for the supply of this type of fabric for the preparation of these robes.
With this small action, we are very aware of the comments made by the historian and Chronicler
Official of our city, D. Juan Cánovas Mulero, in the documentary that the Illustrious Town Hall of Processions made on the occasion of the "future" realization of the Museum of Holy Week in Totana, "The Feeling of a passion": the meaning of solidarity that arises from the origins of the Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of our municipality, and that accompanies our faith, by dedicating part of our effort to contribute and collaborate with our society in these times of need.
