Tomorrow Tuesday the rains intensify, as reported by the Totana Civil Protection (23/03/2020)

We are still immersed in an unstable situation that has already lasted for days due to the persistence of meteorological situations in which cold air pockets continually drop towards the Peninsula or its surroundings.

Tomorrow, the formation of another DANA or "cold drop" in the south of the peninsula and a storm in north Africa that will inject a powerful flow of humid east wind against the peninsular southeast, will make the rains intense and extensive in the southeast.

Today we are having another rainy day, but tomorrow will be a more unstable and cooler day.

Already from dawn, the rains will be gaining prominence for much of the Region of Murcia and will fall for much of the day.

They will be generalized, persistent and locally strong, being able to accumulate significant amounts of precipitation.

The areas most prone to heavy rains will be the southern half of the Region and the central mountain ranges (Espuña, Cambrón, Lavia and Burete).

The rains will be less widespread and intense in the afternoon.

For this reason, AEMET has activated the yellow warning for rains, which can discharge 20 mm / h in the Guadalentín Valley, Lorca and Águilas, Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón and Vega del Segura during the first half of the day.

It would not be surprising that in many areas up to 40 mm or more accumulates during the day.

But you have to be careful, as there are models that locally predict much more precipitation.

The wind will be strong from the east in areas of the coast, mountains and perhaps in the pre-coast.

The yellow wind warning has been activated that can reach 70 km / h in Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón.

That wind will leave us with a very rough Mediterranean sea, so the orange warning has been activated for waves that can reach 4 meters in height.

Wednesday will be a calmer day, although late in the day it could rain again weakly, as it did during the early hours of Thursday.

As of Friday there is uncertainty and it is possible that instability will continue to affect many parts of Spain, with temporary improvements.

Civil Protection asks drivers who have to go to work tomorrow to take extreme precautions and especially to the emergency services, which will not have an easy day to work.

For everyone else, tomorrow will be a day to enjoy the rain from home.
