A Bando de Alcaldía orders all shops to be closed on Sundays and holidays, except for essential establishments until the end of the health crisis (21/03/2020)

The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, has today issued a Side, as a matter of urgency, which orders the closure of all shops on Sundays and holidays until the end of this health crisis, except for establishments of first necessity.

The exceptions dictated by the Mayor's Office refer exclusively to the convenience stores installed in service stations, pharmacies, establishments selling bread and takeaways, and the press.

This rule is always applied observing the protection measures and instructions indicated by the health authorities aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, such as limited capacity, avoiding crowds, keeping a minimum distance of one person, etc.

The Mayor's Office has decreed this order, signing the restrictions published today in the BORM by the General Directorate of Commerce, Consumption and Crafts of the Ministry of Enterprise, Industry and Spokesperson.

This regulation proposes the closure on Sundays and holidays of establishments included in areas with a large tourist influx, small-scale retail establishments that have a useful area for exhibition and sale to the public of less than 300 square meters, and limitation of Hours until 7:00 p.m.

It is recommended to close the premises at 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

In addition, the Mayor's decree states that the daily closure of commercial establishments (from Monday to Friday working days), which are allowed to open in accordance with the Royal Decree that regulates the state of alarm, will be at 8:00 p.m., if It is well collected to do it at 7:00 p.m.

With this measure the City Council intends to prevent the movement of people on public roads from this time on, according to the mayor, Juan José Cánovas.

Lastly, the Mayor's Office indicates that non-compliance with the closing or closing hours will be sanctioned in accordance with the provisions of RD 463/2020, of March 14, which decrees the state of alarm, and is It will immediately suspend the activity by the agents of the authority, in accordance with the provisions of section 2 of article 5 of the aforementioned government regulation.
