The Totana City Council already adopts from today the first urgent measures of shock in the services of attention to the public in order that the users maintain a minimum safety distance - around one meter - with the staff due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Some chairs have been placed as a barrier to prevent possible contagion of the coronavirus through breathing.
Likewise, in the Citizen Attention Service (SAC), users must wait at the doors of the municipal building, entering one by one, as the windows are enabled in order to avoid concentrations or crowds of people.
In no case, the permanence of more than four people at the same time within the facilities will be allowed.
With these protection and self-protection measures, the aim is to restrict the number of people in the waiting rooms of the municipal public services (SAC, Urban Planning, Social Services, etc.), maintaining safety distances and adopting the hygiene measures indicated by the health authorities.
Shortly, in the SAC, protective methacrylate screens will be placed in order to guarantee the protection of public employees and citizens themselves.
In addition, it is warned that those people who want to make use of municipal services do so only in the case that it is essential;
and it is recommended to carry out all the steps that are possible by telephone or telematic means.
With these measures, municipal workers will collaborate and contribute, as public employees in the service of the general interest, so that alarm situations do not occur without reason, avoiding the uncontrolled spread of the epidemic.
The City Council asks for collaboration and social responsibility to face this social and health crisis with the wisdom and maturity that our society treasures, because only by adopting preventive measures on an individual basis can the epidemic spread, flatten the contagion curve and avoid the collapse of public health services.
This morning a Board of Spokespersons will be held in which the measures to be taken on the suspension or postponement of acts and the closure of municipal buildings or premises or public services will be agreed.
