The Municipal Sports Center "December 6" hosted on Saturday February 15 the Local Phase of School Sports Athletics, organized by the Department of Sports in collaboration with the Totana Athletics Club, where 90 schoolchildren from the different schools of the locality, belonging to the juvenile and child categories, both male and female.
The competition featured five different tests;
speed, endurance, long jump, weight throwing and relay races.
In the male juvenile category, La Cruz College was the clear dominator occupying the first three positions of the podium;
while in the female juvenile category, Reina Sofía College took first and third place, being La Cruz College in this case second classified.
In the children's category, Reina Sofia College won first place, both in male and female modality, with the IES Prado team being the second largest in the latter.
The competition concluded with the delivery of trophies and medals for the three best teams classified in each of the categories, by the Councilor for Sports, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez Hernández.
In addition, the champion teams of the different categories will also have the opportunity to participate in the Regional Preliminary Phase of School Sports Athletics, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia, on Friday, April 24 in Lorca.
