The Municipal Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" hosted last Saturday, February 8, the Local Phase of Playing School Sports Athletics, organized by the Department of Sports, which was attended by 91 schoolchildren from different schools in Totana , belonging to the Benjamin category, in both male and female modalities.
The athletes had to practice various tests and athletic modalities, such as speed, long jump, javelin throw, side jump, ball throw and relay.
In the masculine modality, Reina Sofía College got first and second place, while La Cruz College finished in third place.
And in the feminine modality, the Reina Sofía College also won first place, while La Milagrosa and La Cruz occupied the second and third positions respectively.
Finally, trophies and medals were awarded to the three best teams classified by the Councilor for Sports, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez Hernández, and by the Physical Education teachers of La Cruz and Reina Sofía, Miguel Martínez Crespo and Francisco Martínez Casanova.
In addition, the champion team in this local phase will have the possibility to participate in the Regional Final of Playing School Sports Athletics, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia, on Thursday, March 5 in Cartagena.
