The PP denounces that the mayor of Totana and his councilor for education and emergencies incur a serious abandonment of duties when cutting classes at 9:00 am today (20/01/2020)

The Mayor is justified in the circular sent by the CARM for the suspension and closure of Educational Centers, when that circular was sent yesterday Sunday to all the municipalities of the Region.

The Mayor and the Councilor for Education and Emergencies incur a serious dismissal of duties by suspending classes at 9 am when students were already in primary schools and the Institutes had been running for almost an hour.

They are shielded in the circular sent by the CARM yesterday to all the Centers and Town Halls of the Region, but that it was Sunday, it does not excuse them of anything, because if it was Sunday in the City of Totana, it was also in the Autonomous Community and in the rest of the municipalities that suspended classes yesterday.

If the Councilor for Education and Emergencies and the Mayor yesterday did not have knowledge of the circular sent, it means a serious abandonment of duties and today more than avoiding a danger, what they have caused has been to put hundreds of students in the municipality at risk after their decision Belated and irresponsible.

We are not worth the excuses of the Mayor who once "has screwed up" wants to shake off the "fleas" and as we are accustomed, blame others.

If they are responsible for the security of thousands of neighbors, yesterday, although it was Sunday, they should be in direct contact with the different regional media to decree what they would have seen convenient, but not today when the parents had already left practically all children in school and especially in institutes.

The only thing that they have caused has been to put at risk a multitude of students in Totana and caused chaos in all the centers, in addition to the fact that the students of the institutes have had to leave the center when they did not run any type of danger. , the danger has been to put them all on the streets, some without parental knowledge and have caused children to wander this morning through the municipality in bad weather.

The same decision they had taken this morning at the beginning of the classes could have been taken last night, in addition to avoiding the risk of students and teachers having moved to the centers they would also have given parents time to organize today's day.

We totally agree that in the event of severe weather conditions, the most suitable measures for the population are taken, but it is also true that sometimes, these poorly taken measures can increase the risk.

We ask that the Mayor and the Councilor of education admit their irresponsibility, give explanations and apologize to the neighbors for the mismanagement and their abandonment of duties.
