The traditional Auto Sacramental of the Magi from the hamlet of El Paretón-Cantareros will take place this Monday, January 6, after several years without being held (since 2016);
and will have the organization of a wide range of festive activities and coexistence that will continue throughout the day.
The activity, promoted by the Association of Neighbors El Paretón-Cantareros, will start at 9.30 am with chocolate breakfast organized by the Association of Masters and Housewives of Casa Igual-Dá of this district;
and the staging will officially begin at 10:00 am;
which will have the participation and involvement of the neighbors.
In addition, at 12:00 hours it will be the Holy Mass, at 2:00 pm the popular paella and at 4:30 pm a Christmas raffle will be held.
The Local Government Board approved last December to sign a collaboration agreement with the Association of Neighbors El Paretón-Cantareros to resume the realization of the Magi Car and cover part of the expenses, for an amount of 1,500 euros.
The agreement was signed by the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and by the representative of the Neighborhood Association, Brenda Andreo Crespo, to assist in technical and material support;
so that, as consideration, this entity undertakes to organize the Auto Reyes Magos.
The proposal considers this citizen initiative to be of cultural interest, in the case of a popular and religious theatrical representation based on a manuscript that dates back to the 18th century and, therefore, constitutes an outstanding manifestation of the traditional and folkloric heritage of Totana, aimed at the preservation of Cultural traditions and historical heritage of the municipality.
