Last Sunday, December 22, the Totana hiking club has organized Tree Day, an activity that celebrates its fifth edition, established in the club's calendar as one of the classics.
For the fifth consecutive year, we continue with these small repopulations of native trees and shrubs (carrascas or holm oaks mainly but also, coscoja and carrasco pine) following the guidelines of the Regional Park.
We highlight the large influx of attendees, on this beautiful and sunny morning, with more than 60 people between children and adults, this activity is very conducive to carry out with the family in order to raise awareness, especially for the little ones, in care of our environment, improving it with the planting of native species, also this year, at the end of the plantation a whisk was made to collect garbage and then recycle it.
The place chosen has been the surroundings of La Santa, in the recreational area of Grifo, a place very accessible and known by all, with the intention of being able to visit, water and follow the evolution of the trees.
At the end of the tour, the hiking club invited attendees to a well-deserved refreshment, with the collaboration of the Santa Foundation, the City Council of Totana and the Regional Park of Sierra Espuña.
Thank you very much to all attendees for their selfless work.
And thank you very much to David, promoter of this beautiful and necessary initiative, to Gregorio, Zamarreño and Isa for their involvement in the event, and of course, to the members of the hiking club that thanks to all, this activity is consolidated year after year , giving meaning to the Club's ideology.
