Hard defeat of the totaneros after an agonizing and extensive match against a tough opponent such as the Elda team, which for this match aligned Carlos Rico, Sergio Sánchez and the mazarronero Higinio González.
Santiago and Julián Méndez moved along the totaneros with Pedro Miguel Ruíz.
The first match was key.
Santiago opened the meeting for the totaneros and Sergio for the locals.
Santiago started well and scored the first game clearly, with good counterattacks, but Sergio refused and placed 2-1 up.
Santiago managed to force the playoff and in the fifth and final game maximum equality, but in the end he fell from the local side by 11-9.
In the second game Julian faced Carlos Rico.
In the first two games there was a lot of equality and very good points, but both fell on the side of La Torreta by the minimum.
In the third game Julian could not maintain the level and the eldense won 3-0.
With 2-0 in the general scoreboard, Pedro Miguel had the obligation to win to start the comeback.
And he got it, showing himself aggressive in his blows against Higinio and taking the game 3-1.
But the locals again extended the advantage on the scoreboard with the victory of Carlos Rico 3-0 against Santiago, who although deserved more and stood up in two sets, was irregular.
Pedro Miguel came to the table again and again he played a very good game this time against Sergio Sánchez.
Taking advantage of his service and his attacks, he managed to beat 3-0, the last quarter 13-11.
With 3-2 on the scoreboard, Julian faced Higinio with the intention of forcing the tiebreaker and avoiding defeat.
He managed to turn the first game around and score it in his favor, but the mazarronero equaled 1. He also managed to take the third set, but Higinio drew again after an even game.
In the final set a good show was offered, and Julian managed to save a match ball and with luck and decision he ended up taking the game 13-11.
After this long game the match had to be resolved in the doubles.
Santiago and Pedro Miguel started well against Sergio and Higinio, the first game was scored and the second one started with advantage, but the locals managed to turn it around: that game was scored by 14-12, and also the next one.
The totaneros went up a step to take the doubles to the fifth game, but finally it was those of La Torreta who took the doubles 11-8 in the fifth game, leaving the totaneros just one step away from the comeback.
CTT ALTEA 4 - 2 TOTANA RASPBERRY
On Saturday afternoon the totaneros culminated their double displacement to Valencian lands, but those of the Taula Altea Tennis Club gave the surprise and took the meeting, losing the leadership of the group to the totaneros.
Valentino Angelov, Costa Rican Arturo Silesky and Juan Delgado played for the Alterans, while the Totaneros repeated a trio.
The aliens started 2-0 up surprising the totaneros.
First, Valentino played a great game against Santiago who did not finish deploying his game, 3-0;
and then Arturo beat Pedro Miguel 3-2.
The first two games were distributed both in the advantages, and after the third Pedro Miguel took advantage, but Arturo managed to overcome with long points and good attacks and blocks.
Julian was now the one who had to start the comeback, and he did it by beating Juan Delgado 3-0 showing solid in his defenses.
Pedro Miguel then tied the game, also beating Valentino 3-0 making another good game.
It seemed that the totaneros had found the path of the comeback when Santiago devastated Juan Delgado in the first two games, but the totanero was losing confidence, quite the opposite of the alteano, who managed to overcome the game after three games matched, putting his team 3-2 up.
In the sixth game Julian again had the obligation to win to force the tiebreaker doubles.
In the first game he missed the advantage he had obtained and gave in the advantages, contrary to what happened in the second, where it was the Costa Rican Arturo who was ahead and the totanero who managed to overcome.
The third quarter, also decided on the advantages, was scored by a more aggressive Julian with more control in defense.
But from there the local player controlled better the attacks of the totanero while also taking advantage of his own attacks, so that he was done with the fourth and fifth game.
With this hard defeat the totaneros of FRAMUSA lose the leadership they obtained in the previous day and go down to second place tied to points with CTT Altea, finishing the first round with 8 wins and 3 losses.
They have lost a good chance to make a difference and consolidate the first place, but now they have the pressure on their part.
However, the three players have level and desire to resume the first place that grants the direct promotion of category, which was known to be complicated.
