The Christmas and Kings program, organized by the Department of Culture with the invaluable collaboration of associations, cultural, social and neighborhood groups, this year brings together a total of 41 activities that will take place from December 14 to January 6, which has an approximate budget of about 22,000 euros.
The Councilor for Culture, Verónica Carricondo, has presented the program of events, during which act she thanked, in advance, the collaboration of associations and entities of the municipality that have contributed with their participation to substantially enrich the program, and that have been around to 22 associations.
This program starts this weekend, with the inauguration this Saturday of the Bethlehem Municipal Christmas Trifold in the exhibition hall "Gregorio Cebrián", at 6 pm.
The Bethlehem has been made by the belenista teacher Fran Carrillo, from the Association of Friends of Bethlehem Association Venta los Pinos;
and can be visited until January 6.
One more year the V Christmas Showcase Contest will be held, whose awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 18 at the winning establishments.
The Royal Mailbox Draw will also take place on Thursday, December 19, in which the selected boys and girls will be accompanied as pages in the Three Kings' Cavalcade on January 6.
On the following weekend, from December 20 to 22, there is the VIII Christmas Fair and the Avenida de Lorca Gift, organized by the Association of Merchants of Avenida de Lorca, with a wide program of activities.
On this same weekend, on Saturday, December 21, Santa Claus will visit Totana one more year;
and on this occasion, the visit will take place on Avenida de Lorca, starting at 5:30 p.m., with the participation of the Step by Step Dance Schools and Mari Loli :;
whose activity is organized by said association of merchants in collaboration with the Department of Culture.
The program contemplates as usual several Concerts and Christmas Music: Saturday, December 21 (Mass of Christmas Carols sung by the Santiago Choir in the hermitage of San Roque, at 6:00 pm; and the Carols Concert in the Church of Las Lomas de El Paretón, with the performance of the Band of the Association Friends of Music of El Paretón, at 20 hours);
and Sunday, December 22 (Christmas Concert of the Music Band of the Musical Association of Totana in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja at 12:30 pm, the XI Choral Christmas Festival “City of Totana†at the Convent of Three Hail Marys, with the performance of the Kodaly corals of Molina de Segura, Iuvenis Music Choir of Cartagena and the Vox Musicalis Choir, at 7:30 p.m.; and the Christmas Concert with the choir of boys and girls of the Santiago School to the 20 horsa in the Church Santiago el Mayor).
In addition, on Wednesday, December 25, the Traditional Gang Meetings of Calle San Antonio and Virgen del Pilar will take place;
and the Christmas Mass in the Church of Santiago sung by the Santiago Choir, at 7 pm.

The program includes, for the little ones, activities at the "Mateo García" Municipal Library, on Monday, December 16 "Chungui, the Elf of the Tales at Christmas" -counts for boys and girls from 4 to 7 years old;

To participate in these activities, prior registration in the library is required.

on Saturday, December 28 (Creative Badges Workshop from 12 noon, in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, organized by the El Candil Collective; and on the same day it will be “The Colorful Monsterâ€, with music and dance, to 12:30 pm, in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, organized by the Department of Culture).
As always, the Christmas Schools and Workshops for boys and girls will be organized for the reconciliation of work and family life in the Santiago, La Cruz Schools, Barrio Tirol Camilleri Social Center and La Cárcel Sociocultural Center.
As Christmas icing for the children, the visits of Santa Claus and the Magi are celebrated.
In this case, Santa Claus will visit us, as I said before, on Saturday, December 21, at Avenida de Lorca from 5:30 p.m.
The Magi will take place on Saturday, January 4 for the collection of letters from the children at the Marcos Ortiz Municipal Auditorium, starting at 4:30 p.m.
On Sunday, January 5, starting at 12 noon, there will be a novel activity that will replace the launch of candies that until now had been carried out in the Cavalcade, whose activity is called "Waiting for the Magi, Music, Illusion and Animation ", in which the pages of the Magi will deliver candies and candies to all children who approach the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, with music and animation characters.
The councilor recalled that the Three Kings Parade this year is held at 6 pm, ahead of one hour.
Also, an activity that is resumed, after a few years of parentheses, is the "Auto de los Reyes Magos", in the hamlet of El Paretón-Cantareros, on January 6, with several complementary activities such as a chocolate and a popular paella , organized by the Association of Neighbors of El Paretón-Cantareros.
The program also contains numerous solidarity activities such as Wednesday, January 1 (Collection of food and toys in the Brotherhood of Jesus in Calvary and Holy Supper), on Saturday, January 5 (VIII Solidarity breakfast for the benefit of Caritas in Martin's Cafeteria ) and the collection of non-perishable food and personal hygiene in favor of Abandoned Jesus, during the period of exposure of the Bethlehem of the Brotherhood of Veronica, at its headquarters.
Another traditional Christmas activity that includes the program is the Visit to the Nativity scenes (Municipal Bethlehem; VIII Solidarity Bethlehem of the Brotherhood of Veronica, in its headquarters until January 6; and the Living Bethlehem of the Brotherhood of Jesus in the Calvario and Santa Cena - Wednesday, January 1).
Other activities included in the program are the Family Christmas Hiking Day, organized by the Department of Sports;
and several cultural and tourist visits, organized by the Department of Tourism;
as well as guided and theatrical visits to the La Bastida Site, theatrical to the La Cárcel Sociocultural Center and the Tower of Santiago Museum.
