The Local Government Board has approved the proposal of the Councilor for Culture, Verónica Carricondo, to sign a collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Federation of Peñas del Totana Carnival aimed at organizing the Cavalcade and delivering letters to the Magi from 2020 for a total amount of 14,000 euros.
This agreement will be signed shortly by the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the president of this federation, Rocío Tudela, given that prior to the realization of the event, in the month of December this year, multiple planning activities are carried out and organization that require the acquisition of precise material and equipment.
Specifically, 10,000 euros will be contributed from the 2019 municipal budget and another 4,000 euros to the 2020 extended budget.
In this way, the Consistory will collaborate with the financial contribution of 14,000 euros to finance the expenses derived from the Cavalcade and delivery of letters that will be made on January 4 in the municipal auditorium "Marcos Ortiz", collaborating with the decoration of the scenario, providing monitors and acquiring goodies and gifts to children.
It will also collaborate with the activity "Waiting for the Magi. Music, Illusion and Animation" to be held on January 5 in the morning in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, with the participation of animation characters and royal pages for the distribution of sweets and candies that will be provided by the Federation of Carnival Peñas.
Likewise, the Three Kings' Cavalcade will be energized and encouraged with seven groups of choreography, with Christmas costumes, located between floats, which will cheer the public with music and Christmas carols;
Participating dolls of well-known animation characters.
The Cavalcade will consist of a car with the star, four floats of the Peñas Federation, one for each king and one for the animation characters, duly decorated and illuminated in line with the event.
In each float the SSMM the Magi will be accompanied by the children selected in the raffle of the activity of the Royal Mailbox.
