A "definitive and alternative solution" to the layout of the AVE (04/12/2019)

The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, has met today with the delegate of the Government in Murcia, Francisco Jiménez, who has raised the advisability that, on the part of the Ministry of Development and Adif, a definitive and alternative solution be expedited "to the layout of the AVE as it passes through the municipality of Totana, thus fulfilling the different plenary agreements that include" the general sensitivity of the totanera society ".

The totanero councilor has held the first institutional meeting of this legislature with the head of the Government of Spain in this autonomous community, which he has described as “very cordial and positive” for the general interests of the citizens of this municipality and highlighted the “ institutional receptivity and loyalty ”of the government representative with the issues addressed that affect Totana.

The first mayor, who has been accompanied by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Pedro José Sánchez, for the numerous issues related to infrastructure, has moved a broad directory of issues that fall under the State Administration.

Among the issues discussed are those related to Citizen Security in this municipality, for which the mayor has requested the reinforcement of Civil Guard troops at specific times of the year;

although both have shown their satisfaction with the reduction of crimes in the municipality in recent months.

In this regard, the reality of the housing and coexistence problems that exist in Totana has been addressed, as well as the coordination of the Civil Guard and Local Police in matters of managing Gender Violence issues.

Those responsible for both Administrations have discussed the context offered by the Comprehensive Monitoring System in cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System), of the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of Interior, in this municipality, in compliance with the provisions in Organic Law 1/2004, of December 28, on Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender Violence, whose protocol is in progress in 11 municipalities of the Region, one of them, Totana.

The mayor has moved the convenience of the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Development facing the construction of the third lane planned on the A7 from Crevillente to Puerto Lumbreras and not only to Alhama de Murcia, as planned, thus improving communications in the Guadalentín region

Juan José Cánovas has informed of the motion that the Plenary will address in December, at the request of the Mayor's Office, requesting the Ministry to contemplate this work in the General State Budget of 2020 and collecting the construction of the third lane in this infrastructure until Puerto Lumbreras.

Also, the mayor has moved the need to establish a clear and precise commitment by the Government of Spain on the project of the High Voltage Line of the Zarcilla de Ramos, supporting the neighborhood claims and the City of Totana.

Another issue of interest has been the AVE Line Catenary project, on which the mayor has informed the Government delegate of the neighborhood requests in this regard to set an alternative to the existing project, as approved by the plenary;

preserving the transformation centers or avoiding voltage drops, and this being buried;

so that as soon as there is an alternative, an urgent meeting is held between all parties.

Finally, Cánovas has moved its concern about the state of the Reguerón Dam as it passes through the hamlet of El Paretón, and the need to divert the flow of this infrastructure to the Las Moreras waterfront in the direction of Mazarrón.
