The Department of Youth has opened the deadline for the presentation of representatives, until October 1, to update the members of the Municipal Commission for Children and Youth in order to reactivate this citizen participation body, according to sources in this municipal department.

The Local Government Board, in session held on May 31, agreed on the creation of the Municipal Commission for Children and Youth, citizen participation body in the field of children and youth in order to enable a tool that allows the participation of young people, entities and groups in the actions that are planned, organized and developed aimed at children and young people.

The Municipal Commission for Children and Youth is composed of the president (mayor-president or person delegated by the presidency), Youth councilor and a representative of each of the political groups represented in the City Council.

In addition, it is made up of a representative from each of the active youth associations or those working with children and youth duly constituted, registered or in the process of registration in the corresponding Registries;

and a representative of the youth sections of non-strictly youth entities that have autonomy in their operation, guaranteed by the existence of their own statutes.

It is also made up of a maximum of 4 young people with voice and vote over 14 years of age and under 30 registered in the municipality of Totana who have previously requested it;

a maximum of 4 young people with voice and vote who perform the functions of youth correspondents in the HEI of the municipality of Totana;

technical staff of the Department of Youth and Citizen Participation -with voice but without vote-.

Finally, it will be formed by the secretary (the secretary of the municipal Corporation or person to whom he delegates -with voice but without vote-), and may also participate in it, as guests with voice but without vote, when matters require, municipal technicians, experts, members of other associations, entities or groups.

To this end, the Department of Youth urges the representatives of said groups to, if it is in their interest to participate in the Commission, communicate the person who will represent said entity in the same, submitting a request addressed to this Department before the next 1 October.
