The Gender Violence Commission, became part of the guideline that the Service of Planning and Programs of Prevention of Gender Violence, belonging to the General Directorate of Social Policy, becoming the Local Coordination Board.
In this sense, it resulted in Totana becoming one of the pioneer municipalities by having created a space to promote the coordination of the different instances involved in the fight against gender violence and enhance the implementation of coordination tables Municipalities that bring together professionals who from different fields attend to women victims of gender violence.
In addition, coordination of the competent Department in the care of women victims of gender violence with that of Public Safety is guaranteed, in order to provide greater protection for women victims of violence in their municipality.
In 2014, the Totana Coordination Police Bureau was created, whose objective is to create work sessions where coordination and collaboration between the security forces and bodies of the municipality of Totana and CAVI Bajo Guadalentín were a priority, not only for intervention with the Women victims of gender violence, but also create prevention actions.
In October 2018, thanks to the State Pact against Gender Violence, whose purpose is to adopt the appropriate legal modifications so that the local Administration can carry out actions in the promotion of equality between men and women, there is an extension of the CAVIs, returning the Center of Attention of Women Victims of Gender Violence of the municipality to have the competencies and denomination of CAVI of Totana, attending to the municipality of Aledo and Totana.
On June 28, 2019, the Local Coordination Board (MLC) and the Local Police Coordination Board (MCP) have been convened, the second meeting of this year, where the agents involved in both tables were able to carry out a pooling of the actions and interventions carried out in this first semester of the year, to make an assessment and provide new proposals to improve for prevention, awareness and intervention against Gender Violence in the municipality.
This work sees its fruit in the referral of women to CAVI, being mostly referrals by the Security Forces and Bodies, followed by the social, health and education area.
And the request for intervention of the CAVI has also been increased, by the women themselves when informed by the other services.
