One hundred children aged between 3 and 12 years will participate in the Christmas School during the period of Christmas school holidays to reconcile work, family and personal life, according to sources from the Department of Youth.
The City of Totana receives a direct grant grant, for an amount of 10,509 euros, the fourth consecutive year that the municipality benefits from this aid.
The initiative is funded by the European Social Fund (2014-2020) and by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The purpose of the program is to provide services for reconciling work and private life in the municipality and cover the needs of children while their parents are working or receiving training for employment, and to make it possible, it is necessary to develop actions that will allow to balance their employment with family and personal development in a balanced way.
And for this reason, this Christmas School project is launched, aimed at children with enrollment in the primary and primary education centers of the municipality or who are included in the municipal population register, which is adapted to the labor needs of the area in which they develop.
The Christmas School will offer leisure and training activities in free time, development of workshops and activities focused on creating habits of cooperation, organization and teamwork, and mutual respect between children and their children towards the environment in which they live.
In short, it is about offering an alternative space for non-formal education during leisure time during the Christmas holidays, in which working fathers and mothers can support each other to adequately attend their sons and daughters at this time.
The dates on which the service will be carried out is, in the Christmas holiday period, from December 23, 2019 to January 3, 2020, from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 2 pm;
and it is possible to extend schedule and offer morning classroom from 8:00 hours.
The activities will be carried out in two public schools in Santiago and La Cruz, respectively;
and this service being subsidized is totally free.
The main objective is to implement the principle of equality and the gender perspective with these resources, to avoid any discrimination between women and men in the reconciliation of personal, work and family life, is one of the responsibilities that corresponds to public administrations in Matter of equality between women and men.
