The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, has dismissed, on behalf of the Municipal Corporation and the citizenship of Totana, the chief commander of the Combat Air Command of the General Corps of the EVA-13 Air Force, Juan Carlos Giz Paz, thanking him for the services provided and its institutional collaboration in the municipality during the last years.
Giz Paz has remained in the Headquarters of said Squadron of the General Corps of the Air Force since August 2, 2016, which took possession in an act held at the Sierra Espuña Air Quarter.
The presence of the commander, who has received a new destination, has coincided this time with the initiative promoted by the City of Totana to grant the Title of Recognition of the 25th Anniversary to the Air Surveillance Squadron number 13, located in the quartet of the Morrón de Espuña.
This act was held last May, taking advantage of the commemorative military institutional act to celebrate this event.
This recognition was delivered by the former mayor, Andrés García, responding to the mandate of the Municipal Corporation, to the head of the Air Combat Command (Macom) of the Air Force, Lieutenant General César Miguel Simón López, during that Memorial event
The City Council unanimously agreed, at its last ordinary session in April, at the proposal of the Mayor's Office, to grant the 25th Anniversary Recognition Title to the Air Surveillance Squadron number 13 and Sierra Espuña Air Quarter, following the procedure established in the Regulations Municipal Honors and Distinctions.
In this file, which began last April 5 by resolution of the Mayor's Office, there were eight accessions within the established deadline of different entities and groups of the municipality of Totana.
