The program "Totana Cultural", promoted by the Department of Culture with the collaboration of associations and cultural entities of the municipality, includes about twenty activities to boost the cultural life of Totana, among which include recitals, talks, visits to museums , concerts, exhibitions and gastro-pottery routes, costumbristas and folkloric activities, from the end of April and until July 5, according to sources of this municipal department.
The program opens on Saturday April 27 with the musical and poetic activity "Between two lands" sound of the African Kora, with the musical performance of Sirifo Kouyate and Safar Kouyate and the poetry of Inma Pelegrín and Katy Parra- (Platea Loungebar; 9:00 pm).
On May 1 and 4, at 9:00 and 1:00 pm, a guided tour of the Las Cabezuelas deposit, the Craft Technology Center, the Moruno oven and the Arco de San Pedro, organized by the Martin's Coffee Shop and the Kalathos Association (from 8 to 12 euros), with maximum groups of 30 people and prior reservation (Tourist Office or Cafe Martin's).
On Thursday, May 2 will be a talk for parents to commemorate the Day of the Book under the title "Why tell stories to children?", In the municipal library "Mateo García".
In addition, on Thursday May 9 will be held the recital in tribute to Isabel Romera and Segismundo Deltell, which will recite the members of the group "Di-Versos" and entertained by the singer Amarela, in the "Rock Café".
On Thursday, May 16, the book "La historia tiene nombre de mujer", by Juan Ruiz García, will be presented by the historian María Martínez Martínez, with the musical performance of Alfonso Gallego García, in the "Gregorio" exhibition hall Cebrián. "
The next day, May 17, will be celebrated the visit to the Museum of the Tower of the Church of Santiago "Atardecer en la Torre" (8:00 pm) to commemorate the International Day of Museums, whose meeting point will be in the Main door of the temple, and the inscriptions have to be made at the Tourist Office.
On Saturday, May 18, at 10:00 a.m., there will be a visit to the archaeological site of La Bastida to commemorate the International Museum Day: admission will be free for the group at 10:00 a.m. and registration will be made at the Tourist Office, with a maximum of 30 places.
That same Saturday will also take place another visit to the Museum of the Tower of the Church of Santiago "Atardecer en la Torre", following the same procedure cited above.
That day the Association of Leisure and Free Time Caja de Pandora organizes the activity "The Night of the Museums" with a trip to Cartagena, a city that reopens its doors to culture and art to commemorate the International Day of Museums, with free visit to all its museum spaces and the multiple activities that take place in its surroundings.
The trip will depart at 18:00 hours from the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz" and the return will be at 3:00, for the price of 15 euros;
whose inscriptions must be made in the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel".
On Saturday May 25 will be the Concert of the Legendary Band "Topo" to benefit the Association ELA, at the Rock Café, at 20:00 hours, whose early entry is 15 euros and box office of 20 euros.
On Thursday, May 30th, at 8:30 p.m., Luis Conte's photographic exhibition entitled "Effort and improvement in sport, integration and excellence" will be inaugurated, which will give visibility to Paralympic athletes and other personal examples of improvement;
from May 30 to June 10, in the "Gregorio Cebrián" exhibition hall.
II Gastro-Alfarera Route
One of the attractions of the "Totana Cultural" program is the II Gastro-Alfarera Route "Roots of my people", organized by Martin's Coffee Shop and El Poveo Pottery, in order to know and visit the site of Las Ollerías and this profession, with visits to the Moorish kiln and potter's monument, Arco de San Pedro, visit El Poveo pottery and elaboration of pottery piece around or painting with breakfast and optional appetizer- (from 4 to 15 euros).
The activity will take place on June 1, 15, 16, 23, 29 and 30;

On Thursday, June 13, at 9:00 p.m., the painting exhibition "Soñando en colores" will be inaugurated, by the Association of Painters Contraste, which will remain open from June 13 to 27, in the "Gregorio Cebrián" exhibition hall. "
Festival of Folklore and Traditions, June 14 and 15
In addition, the program includes the "Festival of Folklore and Traditions: Totana, Kingdom of Murcia", which will be held at the fairgrounds on June 14 and 15.
On Friday 14th, the "Terrenico Güertero" (20:00 hours) will be inaugurated, with the traditional handicrafts fair, traditional prints, "ventorrillo" with typical tapas, exhibition of regional costumes, among others.
That same day, the 1st Mantellinas Contest (21:00 hours) and the Cuadrillas Meeting (22:00 hours) will take place, with the participation of Las Cotillas de Cotillas, Zarzadilla de Totana, Auroros de Lorca and Cuadrilla of El Paretón.
On Saturday, the 15th, a reception will be held at the City Hall of Totana with the invited groups from Mula, Cuenca and Ciudad Real (7:30 pm);
and the great "Güertero Parade", with the participation of floats, folklore groups and costumbristas (20:15 hours), with the route Plaza de la Constitución, Puente, San Antonio and fairground.
At 22:00, organized by Peña Folklorica La Mantellina, the X Folklore Festival.
Finally, on Friday, July 5, starting at 9:30 p.m., the Santiago Minifestival will be held, with the performance of "Inkeys", "The Tracks" and "Fernando Nicolás y malas empresas", on Santiago Street ( Rincon del Ajo) behind the church of Santiago-, organized by the SonImagina Association.
