The Department of Culture starts today the program of activities of the Day of the Book that this year will last throughout the month of April;
and that begins with the presentation of the book of the collection of poems "Mi arbolito step by step", by the author Juan A. Pellicer, at the Municipal Library "Mateo García", at 8:00 p.m.
Nearly a score of cultural activities make up the program, which will conclude on May 9 with the tribute recital that will be paid to Isabel Romera and Segismundo Deltell.
Most of the activities will be held at the Municipal Library "Mateo García" and some of them require prior pre-registration;
although others count on the invaluable collaboration of cultural associations and entities of Totana.
These include book presentations, reading animation campaigns, storytelling workshops, stories for the elderly, travelers book, literary contests, Reading Club, recitals, etc.
Also begins the charitable donation in favor of Caritas that will take place until May 10, with which bringing a non-perishable food or cleaning product the user can take a duplicate book of the municipal library.
In the same way, the campaign "Books that heal, heal" begins, which will also be developed until May 10, an initiative that leaves boxes of books in health centers, cafeterias and exhibition halls;
in such a way that once the book has been read it can be returned to the municipal library.
