A total of ten students of the XII Promotion of the International Baccalaureate (BI) of the IES "Juan de la Cierva y Codorníu" of Totana received their diplomas today in the course of the institutional act of delivery of the same that was held in the room of acts of the teaching center.
The event was attended by the mayor of Totana, Andrés García, the general director of Attention to Diversity and Educational Quality of the Ministry of Education, Francisco José Martínez Casanova, and the director of the IES, Juan Francisco Otálora.
In addition, the first deputy mayor, Juan José Cánovas, the deputy general director, Inmaculada Moreno Candel, and the councilors Carlos Ballester and María José Baeza met;
as well as representatives of the educational community of the teaching center, such as the coordinator of the BI program, Consuelo López Fernández, teachers, parents and students participating in the program.
Also present were representatives of the IES "Alfonso X El Sabio" of Murcia, which is together with the IOT totanero, the only ones that carry out this academic offer in the Region of Murcia and which began in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
During the ceremony, a balance was made of the pedagogical work carried out by the twelfth class of students of the comprehensive scientific and human training program at the IES de Totana;
and the professional and personal effort of the participants was reviewed.
The authorities congratulated the participants for completing the program last year with all its requirements, among which were the research work in the different subjects, monographs, oral presentations, laboratory experiences, among others, as well as the realization of the external examinations proposed by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
In the same way, they recognized the bet made in their day by the educational community of the center, in particular the cloister, as well as the students who believed in this project, who with these diplomas received the recognition for the effort made, and that without a doubt It has made the transition to the university smoother.
Also, the mayor congratulated and thanked the IES faculty "Juan de la Cierva", who was a pioneer in the implementation of the Bachillerato Region in Murcia, his involvement with this program of educational excellence and his commitment to continue offering young people the whole region the possibility of being part of this profile of international learning community, as well as to all entities and collaborating companies.
Likewise, he insisted on thanking the center for the dynamism of the teaching staff in taking on this novel and demanding program, as well as the performance of the center that has actively participated in the implementation of this international curriculum.
