Citizens supports the arrival of 10 hectometres of water from the Águilas desalination plant, which will serve to consolidate and improve the situation of almost a thousand farmers -in particular, 970- of the totaneras districts of El Raiguero, La Huerta and El Paretón.
The regional spokesman, Miguel Sanchez, along with the national deputy Miguel Garaulet have moved to the area today to show the irrigators their support for this demand, "which will result in greater economic development, based on small-scale sustainable agriculture operations" , highlighted the orange spokesman.
Citizens will promote, at both the regional and local levels, "actions to expedite as far as possible the management of the dossier that will consolidate these 970 farmers their rights over the water they receive from the desalination plant," and has also collected the petition farmers to count in the area with a swamp of their own regulation and that the price of this desalinated water is 30 cents, "the same as those paid by the irrigation communities of Lorca, Pulpí or the Águilas own, because in small farms You can assume a price of 60 cents per cubic meter when the price of broccoli is 40 or even less, as they have transmitted to us.
Water is necessary to guarantee its sustainability, but also a reasonable price so that it does not lose competitiveness, "said Garaulet.
