As of tomorrow it is strictly forbidden to carry out fires in the barbecues set up in the Sierra Espuña Regional Park (31/05/2018)

The councils of Environment and Emergencies of the City of Totana remember that users and visitors can no longer carry out fires starting tomorrow, June 1, in the barbecues set up in Sierra Espuña, which will be sealed to avoid incidents.

From this date it is totally forbidden to carry out a fire in the existing barbecues in the different places and recreational areas scattered throughout the Sierra Espuña natural park, basically in the areas of El Grifo and El Ángel.

There is a prohibition, as every summer, to cook in the bush both with barbecues and using gas-camps, by virtue of the measures included in the INFOMUR Plan.

In this way, the use of gaseous fuel is allowed during June and September;

so that the prohibition for any type of fuel is for July and August (exclusively with administrative authorization in an exceptional and controlled way).

Civil Protection appreciates the collaboration of all users and visitors to the Sierra de Espuña throughout the year and, particularly, during the summer months in order to avoid unpleasant accidents on the natural environment, more in a summer of extreme drought such as expected.

The fundamental objective of the Emergency Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires in the Region of Murcia (Plan INFOMUR) is to establish the hierarchical and functional organization in order to protect people, property and the environment.

The scope of application of this Plan extends to the entire territory of the Autonomous Community of Murcia and consequently are integrated into it, the Municipal Emergency Plans for forest fires, such as Totana.
