Juan José Cánovas defends a model of promotion of the site with visits such as those made last weekend by members of the professional associations of Economists and Social Graduates of the Region of Murcia
The councilor of Archaeological Sites, Juan José Cánovas, pleads for integral tourist actions sustained in promotional visits of groups organized to the archaeological site La Bastida, that promote of transversal form professional sectors like the hotel trade and the commerce;
and that generate wealth through tourism and job creation.
The first deputy mayor and head of this area of ​​municipal management defends a model of promotion of the site with guided tours scheduled as those carried out last weekend members of the professional colleges of Economists and Social Graduates of the Region of Murcia, directed by the concessionary company "Conexión Cultura".
More than half a hundred social graduates and economists participated last weekend in a theatrical visit to the site of La Bastida, with monographic workshops;
and enjoyed a lunch and a meal set in the Argaric period thanks to the involvement of catering professionals in the municipality.
In this regard, the mayor of Archaeological Sites reiterates that this action must be the pattern that should move us to promote our site, and boost our cuisine and places of tourist interest in our town;
favoring directly and indirectly professional sectors of Totana.
In this sense, Juan José Cánovas continues defending the need and convenience of designing the building of the old Technological Center of Crafts, located in the area of ​​Las Ollerías, as a museum exhibition space of the pieces of the site, owned by totaneros, as projection enclave added to the archaeological park and as a tourist attraction resource added to it.
Tour packages from the coast
The councilor of the branch adds that these actions contribute to value our heritage, promote our economy and generate jobs in shops, crafts and hotels;
and anticipates that the concessionary company of the management of the guided visits to La Bastida plans to organize this summer full packages with tourists from Mazarrón and Águilas to the archaeological park and Totana.
Canovas says that in the coming weeks is also planned to make a visit of the same characteristics and connotations officials of the Ministry of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment and "opinion leaders" of this area of ​​regional administration.
