The General Director of Youth, Francisco Sánchez, met last Friday afternoon with representatives of associations and youth groups operating in the municipality of Totana in order to know their proposals to the "Youth Plan of the Region of Murcia 2019 -2023 ".
The meeting took place in the audiovisual room of the Socio-cultural Center "La Cárcel", and the Councilor for Youth, Inmaculada Blázquez, and other councilors of the municipal government, as well as municipal technicians in this matter, also participated.
The meeting came to respond to the commitments made at the beginning of April between the general director of Youth and the councilors of the different municipalities of the Region with this same competence to collect their contributions to the "Plan of Youth of the Region of Murcia 2019- 2023 ", being Totana the first municipality that visited to begin this round of contacts with the youthful fabric.
The development of the meeting consisted in a round of interventions by the general director to expose the project and the local representatives, in which, in addition to an introduction of the policies aimed at young people that are carried out in the Region, the needs in this territorial area.
The general director stressed that "this meeting is essential to know the needs and concerns of associations in the municipalities, as it is the administrations closest to citizens."
The Youth Plan of the Region of Murcia "is a pioneering initiative in the Region and is a revulsive to respond to the demands and needs of this group, and will also be the first in Spain designed exclusively by young people" , highlighted Francisco Sánchez.
It is, he added, "an ambitious plan, which will collect the proposals of all secondary schools and their public sector, as well as the entities providing Youth Services, which will set priorities in this area in the Region of Murcia "
The Plan will be designed through a participatory process promoted by the Regional Administration to involve especially the young citizens and involved entities that work in favor of this group in the Region of Murcia, and in which all those who wish to make contributions can participate. .
A public consultation will be carried out through the Transparency Portal and during the summer months the final document will be prepared and presented in the month of September.
For its part, the Councilor for Youth thanked the Director General's visit to Totana and advocated identifying the problems that pertain to young people as a starting point and to structure the action of the agents involved, in order to respond to their demands and concerns.
