The Senate of Professors of the IES "Juan de la Cierva y Codorníu" of Totana, in a session held on April 17, unanimously agreed to grant the Bachelor of Honor degree of the center of 2018 to the poet Katy Parra Carrillo.
The faculty of the institute considers that Katy Parra is worthy of the distinction for her immense capacity to transmit feelings through words, for her coherence, simplicity and humanity, because thanks to her authentic and essential deep poetry she has enriched us enormously.
This distinction, proper title of the center, is granted to Totana personalities who, although they do not have an academic career, have excelled in some area of the creation or development of the locality.
It is a way to recognize the value and contribution of this person to our collective heritage;
it is a way of proposing it to the rest of the educational community and the municipality, as an essential referent of our cultural tradition and our identity.
Tomorrow, Friday, May 4, the award will be presented to Katy Parra in an academic ceremony that will take place at the "Juan de la Cierva" Institute at 1:30 p.m.
At the same, in addition to the family and friends poets, will attend the members of the Cloister and students of Bachillerato.
