The City, through the Department of Handicrafts, and in collaboration with local artisans, will enable a standing exhibition and sale of representative samples of the traditional local crafts and pottery at the place La Santa, under a grant granted by the Directorate General of Trade and Handicraft of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research.
Thus, it meets one of the commitments acquired by the council for Crafts, Isabel Maria Sanchez, representatives of associations of craftsmen and potters of the town at the beginning of term.
For the implementation of this initiative, the City has facilities located in the Sanctuary of Santa, which will cover the installation of the fixed point of display and sale of traditional handicrafts.
Thus, as reported by the mayor, the activities developed through this grant will be linked primarily to upgrading existing facilities and their equipment with the necessary elements for this purpose.
The idea is that the artisans of Totana "show their work to visitors and establish a permanent exhibition and a direct sales system, and to boost sales and promote this sector," explained Councilwoman Crafts Maria Isabel Sanchez Ruiz, who announced that he intends to launch as soon as possible to coincide with the celebration of artisan market is held monthly on the last Sunday of each month on the site.
