The Department of Environment in collaboration with the Department of Citizenship has organized a day of reforestation with over 500 native plants that will take place on an acre in the hamlet of Mount of the Holy, located in the vicinity of the regional park Sierra Espuña, to be held on Sunday April 18th from 11:00 hours to 14:00 hours.
The City Council of Totana, through the Department of Environment and in collaboration with the Department of Citizen Participation, is developing the project "Plant 02", which aims to develop national action based on the restoration of vegetation through actions reforestation.
This project, launched in 2009, is funded by the pharmaceutical company Boenhrineger Inglelheim and Forestry Technology Center of Catalonia (CTFC), who selected the proposal prepared by the City of Totana among all those presented in the Region of Murcia.
The project is developed on the Mount of the Holy, and the first phase of recruitment was completed in February last year and was attended by about 200 people.
This action, which will consist of one hectare reforestation in this emblematic place, declared a public utility, contributing to a better breathing of the planet, as noted by the mayor of the Environment, Trini Cayuela, aims to improve the natural and local biodiversity, promote environmental awareness of citizens and involve the public in environmental actions developed in the municipality.
This initiative is open to both children (provided they are accompanied by an adult if under 16 years), teenagers and adults.
Also, the mayor has informed that give participants the necessary instructions for planting and will be provided in the same way plants and materials needed for it to 11.00 in the atrium of The Holy.
