The mayor and the director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health delivered drawing contest prizes "Security Grows" (15/04/2010)

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, accompanied by the Councillor for Education, Trini Cayuela, and the director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Tomás Pérez Fuentes, delivered yesterday drawing contest prizes "Increased security, the ten students in grades 5 and Primary 6, winners of the schools, "San Jose" and "Tierno Galván", which have been accompanied by their teachers and family.

The drawing contest is part of the campaign, "Grow in Security" is aimed at raising awareness, promotion and dissemination of prevention of occupational risks in a local primary school.

The City Council in collaboration and funding with the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has developed this campaign since 2004, "recognizes the important and necessary work of educating in the prevention culture, no doubt the most effective way to develop habits and patterns safe work, "said the mayor explained.

Also, the mayor reported that this campaign is growing in Security is targeted to raise awareness and promote preventive culture in the school population of the municipality, is aimed at students and pupils of Years 5 and Primary 6.

"This is to teach students the advantages of using preventative approaches work in school, home, street and at work, because in this way can reduce workplace hazards and implement prevention and safe work habit that improve the quality of working life of the town of Totana "

In developing this campaign has involved nine schools, with a total of 500 students, and professional activities of prevention experts have involved the delivery of educational material to students, interactive games, delivery of multimedia presentations, and the Contest drawing, in which children can draw what they have learned in conversations and games.

The panel that reviewed the drawings submitted consisted of municipal technical education, technical prevention of occupational hazards of the City Council and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

The winning drawings have been exhibited in the Cultural Center Jail since 07 April until 12 April.

The prize winners, who have made delivery of digital cameras, MP3 and books have been Juan José Canovas Cayuela (San Jose), Almudena Sánchez Pascual (San Jose), Adela López López (Tierno Galván), Sergio García Martínez (San Jose), Lizbeth Maricela Tanzanian (San Jose), Belén García Rosa (San Jose), Lidia Pérez Ponce (Tierno Galván), Laura Martínez Cano (San Jose), Cristian Dennis Howard (San Jose), Irene Lopez Mulero (San José).

The director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Hall thanked the collaboration that has provided every year in the dissemination of this campaign, which aims to spread the benefits of occupational risk prevention from children.

For his part, Mayor of Totana, who has given closed this season, has extended its cooperation to continue betting with the campaign during successive years, and thanked both the directors and teachers of all schools in their collaboration and involvement in the culture of prevention, congratulating the winners of the contest which will become part of the final regional competition.

Finally, the Councillor for Education proceeded to teach students the various municipal winners of the City of Totana.
