A total of ten students of the Aikido Club of Totana, accompanied by José Valero (1 st Dan), attended last weekend at an Aikido course that took place in Valencia on 20 and 21 February.
The course was taught by Yasunari Kitaura, 8 th dan Shihan, a graduate of Waseda University (Tokyo) and a PhD from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as art historian while direct disciple of the founder of Aikido Morihei Ueshiba and his Kisshomaru son Ueshiba.
Yasunari Kitaura lived in Spain since 1967, which was when he introduced Aikido in this country, and has since been formed by numerous experts and black belt in this discipline.
Currently in its 78 years continues to teach courses in various countries, as a reference point for lovers of aikido.
Therefore, totanera delegation who attended the course had the opportunity to work in person with one of the few Uchidesi (personal assistant) to O'sensei (Grand Master) who are alive today, highlighting this as a great privilege for any aikidoka.
