More than 12 million euros have been invested in public works for the town of Totana a city more accessible and modern.
The announcement was the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, accompanied by the speaker, José Antonio Valverde Queen, and the deputy spokesman of the government team, Trini Cayuela, in a press conference where he conducted a review of the objectives achieved during last year and projects to be carried out during this political year.
In this sense, the municipal councilor has identified that 2009 has been marked by social and political commitment to carry out a policy of containment of current spending through the Economic and Financial Sanitation Plan through which it managed to complete 2009 with positive cash flow.
Also, from the municipal government has taken initiatives to support the productive sectors through the signing of cooperation agreements to promote the social economy of the municipality and the implementation of major projects in order to revitalize the productive as measures to alleviate the existing crisis.
Similarly, it has encouraged the hiring of workers for the construction of municipal public works, which have invested more than EUR 12 million and provide employment to over 300 unemployed people in the municipality.
In this same vein, it has fulfilled its commitment to freeze council tax as the descent of the urban property tax, property tax rebate and rustic, with the exception of the rate s that are imposed from the National Government and have been out measures for access to housing to urge the construction of subsidized housing, reaching 90 percent of ICIO bonus, of which 50 percent is for the sponsor and the remaining 40 percent the buyer.
Have also been set up social activities to help families in need of Totana, as the Standing Support Service (SEAPA) and Income Support Compensatory Social Inclusion (RACI), two mechanisms driven financial support from the government team, which has benefited more than 200 families.
Finally, the mayor has expressed his satisfaction at the strengthening of administrative reforms which have taken place since the institution with the objective of implementing a municipal administration in support of the interests of the residents, such as Single Call Ordinance Grants, Municipal Cemetery Ordinance, the Municipal Light Pollution and the Local Emergency Plan, among others.
On another issue, the mayor of Totana has reviewed a number of major projects promoted by the government team, which were launched in the town, such a research project, and publicize the site musealization Argaric "The Bastida "in which it is investing more than 1,400,000 euros
In the same vein Martínez Andreo has also highlighted the beginning of the Tertiary System Works Water Purification with an investment of 2,400,000 euros and a further enlargement of the same and the implementation of the Escuela Taller "Casa de las Nuns, where thirty young people being trained while working on the reform of the infrastructure that will become a Center of Nature.
It also recalled the construction of the Multipurpose Center on Disability, an amount of 762,540 euros and the new building of the local police with an investment of 514,680 euros.
On the other hand, said the works were carried out through the Local Investment Plan, with the investment of 6 million, including improvements in the projects, noting the renovation of the Plaza de la Balsa Old Library, the reorganization of traffic on the Avenida Juan Carlos I, the redevelopment of the Avenida de la Rambla de La Santa, improved roads and sanitation in the districts of Lebor and the Paretón.
On the other hand, has announced the upgrading of roads with an investment of about 3.5 million between highlighting the C-7, C-8, C-315.
