The municipality and the association of residents of El Paretón sign an agreement for the creation and promotion of the traditional Auto Sacramental de los Reyes Magos (14/12/2009)

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the president of the homeowners association of The Paretón, Pedro Villar, have signed a collaboration agreement for an amount of 3,000 euros for the creation and promotion of the traditional Auto Sacramental de los Reyes Magos, every year is celebrated in the village on 6 January.

As explained Martínez Andreo, City Hall, in a bid to recover the traditions and social support groups, working with the neighborhood association to offer the many visitors the sight of this car, which dates XVII century.

In this regard, he indicated that this is the most important cultural activities of the parish, as many people actively involved in order to carry out the auto sacramental.

Totana Mayor has invited all visitors to attend the January 6 from 9:30 am to participate in this wonderful show, organized by the Neighborhood Association, in which 10 actors act.

For his part, President of the Association of Residents of El Paretón, thanked the cooperation of the City, and thanks to this financial contribution can carry out the day's activities.

Pedro Paredes explained that the event will begin near the Escuela Municipal de Música popular hot chocolate, organized by the Association of Amos and Housewives "Same-da."

The Auto sacramental is based on a manuscript dating from the eighteenth century, when they came the first news we have of these representations, which are the most prominent manifestation of its traditional heritage and folklore.
