Paseo de la Avenida de la Rambla de La Santa begins to transform its image thanks to renovations that are running, and that become the main access road to the town of Totana, as reported by the Mayor of Totana , José Martínez Andreo, and Councilman and Comprehensive Maintenance Services of the City, Sergio Lopez, who has visited this morning the status of implementation of these works of this mall, the most emblematic and well known road of the municipality.

As the mayor explained and Comprehensive Maintenance Services of the City, Sergio López, improvement works will be undertaken in two tranches, on the right and left of that street, from Bridge Street to Bridge Street Gardeners' Cross.

These works, referred to in the Work Plan of the Local Investment Fund are being implemented by the company "UTE-Pavasal Asphalt Pavement Lario, SA", which has hired unemployed people in the county, with a budget of 774,059 euros '46, and a lead time of 3 months.

In this sense, the mayor explained that work began on 13 October, but due to the problems of reorganization of the market and the festivities, has requested an extension, although work is going on well and probably will be completed in timely manner.

The works, as explained by the mayor, consist of the demolition of the sidewalk, and replacing the existing pavement, which was completely damaged by precast concrete paving and reinforced for placing on the market.

Also, replanting trees are replacing one-third more than palm trees, hibiscus and brachichiton, giving more shade for pedestrians and better adapted to this climate.

Similarly, street lighting will also be replaced by a more efficient energy saving and fire hydrants are being installed under a grant awarded by the Directorate General of Crafts and Trade, to provide greater security in the hosting market weekly.

With this work and the work being done in the Avenida Juan Carlos I, along with the expansion of the bridge of the Kabuki, this avenue will become a main thoroughfare for pedestrians and traffic as an alternative to providing direct access to the urban the municipality.

The mayor has stated that these works were necessary to standardize the mall changing the railings of the bridges and putting the same lamps, providing safety to the area both to merchants and for pedestrians.
