The City Council will launch the "compensatory income to support social inclusion" (RACI) (27/10/2009)

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the councilman of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion, have reported the new municipal financial benefit "Compensatory Income Support Social Inclusion" (RACI), the City will launch to support families with lower incomes and who are experiencing serious difficulties at this time of crisis.

This measure of social protection, to be presented at the plenary of October, for innovative and pioneering in the system of public benefits to regional and state level, aims to "balance, enhance, strengthen and increase the support of these people and groups who are struggling to meet their basic needs and are not entitled to any benefits, as explained by the municipal councilor.

Furthermore, the implementation of this provision, when determining the grant, will include provision of family expenditure on basic issues such as housing, health or education.

Thus, the coverage is increased, the degree of social protection and living standards of citizens with low incomes, through this supplement to the perception of non-contributory pension.

Furthermore, the granting of this aid will be tailored to the problem and the reality of these people, because when determining the amount of financial aid is excluded from the family income the amount spent for the cost of basic needs like rent, supplies and mortgage bonds, among other things.

This aid is not a fixed amount established and is established according to the economic resources of each person and family.

For the determination of the economic situation of the persons concerned will conduct a professional evaluation by a technician, and the amount will range between 50 and 2,000 euros, to be granted a one-time, being able to split your payment.

This measure of social protection, which complements the Municipal Service Support Standing (SEAPA), will be launched once the plenary will give the green light, and from next week as announced by the municipal authorities, who are interested may receive information in the Department of Services.

Thus, Totana Mayor welcomed the launch of this initiative, "which already has budgetary provision" and made a commitment to continue working to establish hotlines Totana's neighbor.
