The Local Police of Totana involved in the campaign of surveillance and control to the use of helmets on motorcycles and mopeds (21/08/2009)

Totana Local Police participated in the campaign of surveillance and control for the use of helmets on motorcycles and mopeds in Andalusia, Extremadura and Murcia, the Ministry of the Interior, through the General Directorate of Traffic, made from 15 May to July 31.

The objectives of this campaign have been the proper use of safety helmet (properly fastened) as a security measure to prevent serious injury or death in case of accident, for what is to be a percentage of helmet use 100 percent .

In the town of Totana, police said, there counted 4,589 motorcycles and 1,624 motorcycles, and throughout the year, and outside these specific campaigns, the Local Police in Totana specific checks made proper use of the case with the same objectives this campaign.

In 2007, in Spain, a total of 150 riders without helmets were killed in traffic accident.

The goal is that any motorist dies in traffic accident by not wearing a helmet.
