The pensioners, large families and the unemployed, among others, can benefit from the "Social Bono" electricity (08/07/2009)

The Municipal Office of Consumer Information Totana (OMIC) reports that through the new regulation of the electricity sector, which drives the trade liberalization process of electricity, pensioners, large families, individuals who have contracted less than 3 Kw and unemployed will benefit from the "Social Bond," which will save about the tariff.

As explained the mayor of Consumer Affairs, María Isabel Sánchez Méndez, will benefit consumers who have contracted power in their first home less than 3 kW.

Eligible individuals who have a contracted capacity of less than 3 kW in residence and who are benefiting from the Last Resort Rate (TUR) (its price is set by management, are outside marketers who have contracted with in the free market).

They may also benefit holders 60 or older to be pensioners demonstrating the Social Security system for retirement, permanent disability or widowhood, and who receive the minimum amounts in force with respect to the holders with a dependent spouse, or without spouse living in an economic single unit, as well as recipients of compulsory pension insurance and disability (SOVI) and non-contributory pension and disability pension over 60 years.

On the other hand, have the right to "social bonus" holders of supply points for residence, that credit to be extended families under the Law 40/2003 of Protection of Large Families, and also be subject to the LRT.

In addition, eligible for Social Bond holders who, while benefiting from the LRT and is for the main residence, in your household are all unemployed (not retired and not engaged in paid employment activity or self).

The mayor of Consumer Affairs has reported that once it has awarded the "Social Bono, consumers are obliged to inform the trader of last resort, any changes involving the loss of the right to receive the bonus within one month after the change of status.

Failure to meet the requirements for the implementation of the social bond, will result in rebilling of supply, from the date the breach occurs at the rate of last resort by applying a 10% surcharge to be held on the bill immediately after failure detection.
