The general director of Local Government, accompanied by local authorities, visit the new building of local police "Cabo Alfonso Murcia" (12/06/2009)

The director general of Local Government, Javier Iniesta, along with the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and councilors of Public Safety, Roque Molina, and Planning and Development, María José Bedia, this morning visited the new premises of the Police Local, which will open after the summer.

The building was to be called "Cabo Alfonso Murcia" in tribute after he died last year, have been completed, and the facilities will be fully operational once you place the furniture, which has been awarded as a company local.

As the mayor explained Public Safety, the new building, whose final budget will amount to almost 600,000 euros, was financed with more than 300,000 euros for the region and the rest by municipal contribution.

On the ground floor will be installed to the Public Service and the main offices of the Chief, patrol, the three cells and the museum of the local police.

For its part, on the top floor will be put into operation the other police units, which correspond to the administrative area, changing rooms and toilets, among other services.

The mayor has indicated that access to care to the public at police stations will be made by Pilar Street, which houses the main facade, as it has improved accessibility for users with a ramp.

For its part, the director general of Public Administration has explained that when he visited a year ago the current units of the local police confirmed the imminent need to build a new headquarters in the town and in that time, the Community opted for this project

In this regard, he praised the work done by the City Council of Totana, as the building meets all the necessary facilities to provide quality service they deserve the agents of this body and the people of Totana.

The commitment to improve public safety by the regional government, as indicated Iniesta, is indisputable and that in the last 20 months have invested over 11 million euros for the construction or renovation of barracks.

The CEO has indicated that the autonomous region, "Totana is very important", so started by in situ that regional investments are well managed and that lead to the benefit of the municipality.

In addition, Iniesta has explained that the local police is "the closest and should pamper the same resources, so it has committed to consider the possible grants that can be put up for security or communications.

For his part, Mayor of Totana has stressed that this project has been an important commitment of the government team that, through close collaboration with the regional government, is already a reality, and give an important step in improving services provided to the people of Totana, 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
