Over sixty children and young people in town who attend primary and secondary received yesterday from the mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the Councillor for Education, Trini Cayuela, diploma certifying that have participated in educational support groups led out by the Municipal Service of Prevention and Control of Absenteeism.
This project initiated for the first time the city has been funded by the Regional Employment Service and Training in the Region of Murcia.
As explained Cayuela, educational support has been carried out through eight small and homogeneous groups of pupils from different schools in our town, who have received training three hours a week.
Specifically, participated CEIP "The Cross" Primary CEIP "San José"; College made "La Milagrosa" CEIB "Guadalentín" CEIP "Lebor" IES "Juan de la Cierva" and the IES Prado Mayor " .
During these months, students have sought to strengthen the basic tasks of knowledge that are late and develop writing skills, literacy and numeracy, among other things.
The mayor of Education students indicated that academic performance has improved after receiving educational support, as students have actively participated in the booster groups, an aspect that has been noted in the continuum of care of them.
Also, as explained Cayuela, families also have positively assessed the remedial classes, reaching significantly involved in the project.
For his part, Mayor of Totana appreciated the work done by the teachers who have participated in the project and advance has already been requested for the next school year the same project at the SEF, and has also proposed extending the personnel to provide coverage to all students.
