Closing the School Sports Programme (02/06/2009)

The closing of the School Sports Programme, organized by the Department of Sports, was held last Friday at the Municipal Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" where they organized a conference of Popular Games and Sports Alternative, and then handed trophies, medals and gifts to all students participating in school sports.

The awards ceremony began with a trophy of appreciation by the Councillor for Sports, José Antonio Valverde Queen, Physical Education teachers of the eleven participating schools this school year, who have collaborated with the Department of Sport, are: "Reina Sofia", "Tierno Galván", "Santa Eulalia", "La Cruz", "La Milagrosa", "Santiago", "San José", "District", "Guadalentín", "Juan de la Cierva" and "Prado Mayor."

Similarly, also awarded trophies thanks to the local sports clubs have also participated and assisted in the School Sports such as Basketball Club, Futsal Club Capuchin Badminton Club, Tennis Club, Club Espuña sports, Judo Club, Athletics Club, Table Tennis Club, Chess Club and Club Guidance.

Was also used sporting event to honor schools that have achieved this school year proclaimed champions in different sports called, as were: Andrea Ariza and Eva Hernandez (IES Prado Mayor) in Children's Badminton Doubles, Sergio Bravo and Diego Carrión (Colegio La Milagrosa) in Children's Badminton Doubles, Raquel Garcia and Marina Esparza (IES Juan de la Cierva) Cadet Doubles in Badminton, Daniel Canovas and Juan Daniel Sanchez (IES Prado Mayor) in Badminton Doubles Cadet, Mary López and Isabel Sola (IES Prado Mayor) Youth Badminton Doubles, Raul Vera Cano, Chess Open, Rocío García Baños (IES Juan de la Cierva) in Aquathlon Cadet, and Sofia Mecca (Colegio Santiago), Alevin Triathlon.

Also in form of equipment, awards were given to the College of regional champions Tierno Galván, Table Tennis Youngsters; IES Prado Mayor in Child and Youth Badminton, the Reina Sofia School in Duathlon and Triathlon Alevin, and Juan de la Cierva in Children's Aquathlon.

In addition, four awards were handed Drawing Contest Winners "The Olympic Games", which this time were Annie Mosqueda (La Cruz), Ana Belén Martínez Casanova (The Miracle), Juan Jose Crespo Martínez (Santiago) and Miriam Calatayud (Reina Sofía).

Finally, the culmination of the close of school sport, the Department of Sports delivered to all students participating in sports and modules in the School Sports Centre, medals, shirts and gifts, which put an end to the School Sports Programme.
