The event was held at the IES Infante Juan Manuel de Murcia with the presence of M ª José Serrano, head of Educational Programs Service, Consuelo Alvarez, President of the Murcia section of the SEEC and Miracles of Love, vice president of AMUPROLAGO.
CICERO is an international competition aimed at students of 2 º Bachillerato studying Latin, either in high school in Humanities and Social Sciences.
His organization is run by Latin teachers from different European countries.
This year, six countries have participated, England, France, Belgium, Italy, Andorra and Spain.
In Murcia, Spanish only venue of the competition, AMUPROLAGO coordinates (Association of Teachers of Latin and Greek in the Region of Murcia).
The competition consists of two parts, one for translation and another culture.
The latter deals with a mythological theme in which Europe is present.
For this call, the issue has been meditarráneo Ulysses and the world.
The competition this year took place on 27 April.
In relation to last year, which was the first year Spain took part, participation has been duplicated.
Two centers have been enrolled four students and four to nine.
Across Europe, involving over five hundred students (160 in England, 300 in France, 61 in Belgium, 68 in Italy, 30 in Andorra)
At the awards ceremony all participating students received a diploma. The winners of this year were M ª del Mar Pérez Hernández Prado IES Mayor of Totana and Marlon A.
Lorenty Vera IES Cañada de las Eras in the translation test, and again, M ª del Mar Pérez Hernández and Gloria García García del IES Jiménez de la Espada in Cartagena in the test culture. The exercise of the culture have a European award . This year the prize went on a French student.
M ª del Mar Pérez Hernández was second.
The students were accompanied by their teachers and principals of their schools.
