The councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde Queen, attended this morning by the Director General of Sports of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, José Antonio Peñalver, the presentation of the "U-23 Elite Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia-28 Back Cartagena, where the town will host next Saturday, April 18 Third Stage of this sporting event with Chrono Totana climbing to the Sanctuary of Santa.
This meeting, held at Directorate General of Sport, has also benefited from the presence of President of the Cycling Federation of the region of Murcia, José López Tortosa, the Councillor for Sports of Cartagena, Alonso Gómez, and the chairman of Cycling Club Cartagena, Juan José Vera.
Fourteen teams and about a hundred cyclists will participate in the Vuelta a Cartagena XXVIII amateur, to be held from tomorrow, Thursday 16 April until Sunday 19 April and will have a tour of 407 kilometers, including the 7 , 5 of the trial at the Shrine of the Holy of Totana.
The trial, now consolidated in the national calendar of the Elite and Under 23 categories, will feature teams Andalucía Cajasur Bidel Kirolgi, Café Baqué, CAI, CCN Valencia Land and Sea, Contentpolis Ampo, Diputación de León Deysa Team UC Fuenlabrada, Agüera Irons, Mutual Vafemax Levante, Nagares Inn Cañete, Sanse Spiuk, Fuji and UPV Trasmiera Bancaja.
The organization of the race, which corresponds to Cartagena Cycling Club, has scheduled a tour with four stages, the first two a priori transition and the last two that seem critical.
The first day, Thursday, will cover the way Torre Pacheco-Cartagena, 121 miles, with the High Ash, third grade at 43 km from the finish.
On Friday, the riders will cover 132 km starting and finishing in the town of Alhama de Murcia.
Saturday's time trial will take place in the riders depart one by one from Totana and reach the Sanctuary of Santa after 7.5 kilometers upstream.
The stage against the clock determines which riders can get the final victory, which make up my mind on Sunday with a stage between La Palma and Cartagena, to be 147 kilometers and the mountains above La Cuesta, third class, and Cedaceros of second and that will climb to 15.8 km from the finish, to be located at the Mall of San Antonio.
