The mayor of Health of the City of Totana, Trini Cayuela, visited this morning the information about the municipal seat of the Spanish Association Against Cancer has been installed on the weekly market on the occasion of the celebration of World Day for Colon Cancer ".
The mayor of Health thanked the members of the Association's important work carried out through awareness campaigns, since this way, citizens have one more tool to prevent cancer.
Cayuela explained that Colon cancer is the most common malignancy in Europe and in Spain only about 25,000 new cases diagnosed annually.
In this regard, he indicated that it is possible to prevent or detect early, which greatly increases the chance of cure, so it is advisable, in the case where neighbors notice any symptom (blood in the stool or changes in bowel habits) go to their GP.
